Bluesky offer a range of UKAS accredited 3rd party certification for the manufacture of enhanced security windows, doors, firedoors and insulated glass units
To join the manufacturing schemes, you will need to obtain the relevant initial type testing for each scheme being joined. An initial audit at your factory is required, to verify the control of the manufacture of your products in line with the specifications in the test evidence. Ongoing audit visits and audit tests would then be required to maintain the certification.
Below are each of our manufacturing schemes.
Enhanced Security Window and Door Scheme
Bluesky provide a UKAS accredited, enhanced security window and door certification recognised by Secured by Design. This scheme applies to the security performance of external windows and door sets manufactured from Aluminium, Aluminium / timber composite, PVC-u, Timber and Steel.
To join the enhanced security window and door scheme, you will need to obtain the relevant initial type testing, PAS 24, 6375-1 and 6375-2 (including cycling).
We would conduct an initial audit at your factory, to verify that you are controlling the manufacture of your products in line with the specifications in the test evidence.
Ongoing requirements to maintain the certification include at least one factory audit per year, annual PAS24 audit tests, 3 yearly air tightness, water leakage (BS6375-1) and general purpose (BS6375-2) testing.
Fire Resistant Doorset Manufacturing Scheme
Bluesky provide a UKAS accredited fire resistant door manufacturing scheme which applies to the manufacture of timber, PVCU and composite door sets.
To join the fire door manufacturing scheme, you will need to provide test evidence for the doors you are manufacturing. We certify fire doors manufactured in line with BS476 Pt22 and BS EN 1634.
We would conduct an initial audit at your factory, to verify that you are controlling the manufacture of your products in line with the specifications in the test evidence.
Ongoing requirements to maintain the certification include at least one factory audit per year and three yearly fire resistance testing.
Insulated Glass Units and Toughened Safety Glass Manufacturing Schemes
To join the scheme for the manufacture of insulated glass units, you will need to provide test evidence for the glass you are manufacturing. We certify glass units manufactured in line with BS EN 1279 and toughened safety glass in line with BS EN 12150 and BS EN 14179.
We would conduct an initial audit at your factory, to verify that you are controlling the manufacture of your products in line with the specifications in the test evidence.
Ongoing requirements to maintain the certification for both schemes include at least one factory audit per year. Annual climate, gas loss and UV fogging tests are required for the IGU certification and annual fragmentation tests for toughened glass.
Scheme for the Manufacture of Acoustic Windows
To join the scheme for the manufacture of acoustic windows you will need to provide test evidence for the windows you are manufacturing. We certify windows that are manufactured in line with BS EN 10140.
We would conduct an initial audit at your factory, to verify that you are controlling the manufacture of your products in line with the specifications in the test evidence.
Ongoing requirements to maintain the certification include at least one factory audit per year and three yearly testing to BS EN ISO 10140-2
