Conservatory installation

conservatoryModern conservatories and orangeries are capable of providing a living space that can be used throughout the year. If designed and built properly a conservatory or orangery can therefore be a useful addition to a building.

It is important that the building is designed and installed correctly however, and there are many hidden details that can cause problems both for the conservatory or orangery, but also the building itself. The issues often require substantial re-working, or even a complete rebuild of the extension in order to resolve them. It is therefore very important that the installation is done correctly from the start.

As many conservatories and orangeries are exempt from Building Regulations there is no legal requirement for external inspection or monitoring to be carried out, or any minimum qualifications for the installer. Consequently, the quality of installations varies significantly between different companies.

Our scheme for the installation of conservatories and orangeries includes minimum technical requirements for the specification of the building, checks on the company procedures, contracting processes and staff competence, as well as the actual standard of installation, to provide confidence that the installation will be carried out to an acceptable standard. Bluesky certification is a UKAS accredited certification body, No. 9413 and can provide accredited certification for the instalation of conservatories to various standards; please look at our accreditation scope.
